The Thomas House is located in the heart of downtown Camden, SC. Our indoor and outdoor event venue is the perfect place for intimate weddings, garden parties, meetings, small conferences, or gatherings. We offer a comfortable and peaceful environment that suits your needs. Whether it is for private gatherings, work, fun, or simply a quiet place for a quick meeting the Thomas House is the place for you!

 

The home was first built in 1848, and later purchased by Doctor Jesse Horace Thomas, one of Camden's first African American doctors. Dr. Thomas practiced medicine at the building for several years and later gifted the home to his two daughters, Julia and Addie, who made the house their home.  

 

The property has two large gathering rooms that adjoin the kitchen and a huge back screened porch. The third and fourth parlors are designed as a sitting room and conference room respectively. The second floor is a collection of private offices providing meeting space for local business' including CAMPBELL & COMPANY, a Keller Williams Luxury real estate team, and the Kershaw County Board of Realtors. 

 

The Backyard is a tucked away treasure that most people don't even know exists! It's very secret garden-esk that sweeps over the back acre in the heart of Camden! The land stretches all the way from W. Dekalb Street to Rutledge Street for easy access and ample parking.
